Expenditure Monitoring, Cost Dissection & Tracking

Expenditure monitoring is essential to any Oil & Gas company. This is one of the strongest features of Classic, as it enables our clients to keep very strict controls on expenditure right from the time of requisitioning through to actual payment for goods and services.

Cost Dissection provides the ability to dissect transaction to very detailed levels and therefore track expenditures by job/phase/requirement or project over multiple fiscal years.

By entering an AFE/Cost Centre/Cost Code combination, Classic generates an additional set of 6 analysis codes attached to each transaction. These codes allow analysis of costs by AFE, Cost Type, Cost Centres, Wells, Fields, Service Contracts, Sub Phase, Contracts, Cost Categories, Dept of Minerals and Petroleum categories, and the details cost analysis of other reports.


Classic provides Sales Orders and Accounts Receivable modules which provide excellent facilities to track and follow up income.


Classic has been developed specifically for the Exploration, Mining and Oil & Gas Industries, and therefore provides as standard, industry specific reports in the General Ledger and Permit/Costing modules. All standard financial accounting reports are also provided as standard. There are over 100 standard reports within Classic, all of which can be exported directly to Excel, previewed to screen, emailed or printed.

The General Ledger has its own built in Report Generator and a similar Report Generator is available as an enhancement to the Permit/Costing module.

Customization & Configuration

Classic Information Systems developed Classic from the beginning, and owns the source code, which means that you are dealing with the programmers, and support staff that have an intimate knowledge of Classic, and are not reliant on third party suppliers, as is the case with many of our competitors. Should you require any changes to be made to the standard Classic, we are certainly able to configure Classic to provide the perfect fit to your work environment.
